29-30/08/21 Coffee/tea on repeat

Roger finished work two months ago and thanks to 33 years worth of long service leave doesn't get off the payroll for quite some time, so feeling like he's finished has been a rubbery concept so far.  Today's farewells (numbers 6 and 7!) went a long way toward cementing that feeling of finally having left, and not going back.  This was the high point and one of the reasons for our final trip to Toowoomba, Catherine's dental appointment being neither as exciting or as nostalgic, but equally compelling.

The weather was miserable outside. So considerate of it to happen on a Tuesday, when we have a real roof over our head and I have a good reason to stay indoors.

There's not a lot to say really.  Good food was eaten. Afternoon tea segued with barely a blip into dinner at the pub. Speeches were made.  Gifts were given.  Hugs (allowed in Covid-free Queensland) were given. Op-Shop duds performed flawlessly.

Holding forth at the court of farewells.

All that remains now is to pack up the house in Roma and go west.

Updates will continue once we are on the road again.
