10 Feb: Camperdown to Warrnambool The Crater Walk

I got up to film the sunrise, but the sunrise did not care to be filmed, thus I bring you the most boring sunrise video ever recorded.

Wasn't that fun?

The lake was beguilingly moody in the mist, though. I enjoyed sitting around in the cold and damp, watching the sun not rise. No truly, it was very peaceful, there were lots of birds, and once I had dried the bench with the seat of my pants, I was very comfortable if a bit chilled in the posterior.

We went back to the Camperdown Bakery because someone had to get something for smoko. Then we went and had smoko but between the two of us we could only manage half of the largest Melting Moment I'd ever seen.

Doing his best.

We planned to get to Warrnambool by midday to do some chores, but got distracted by a crater walk at Noorat, which ended up being quite the stroll with lots of altitude for a (relatively) short walk.

Half way up the second hill.

It was hot too, and there were lots of flies. My days protein intake increased by at least 12 flies and I was really sorry that I'd forgotten to bring my fly net.

Hilltop cattle.

Wind farm in the distance.

In Warrnambool we stayed with old friends and much reminiscing took place over a nice bottle of wine and some good food. We admired their retro mid-century home with many of the original fittings, and failed to win the trust of their little dog despite trying to do so all evening.

We watched the sun set from their front room.
