10/08/2021 Gympie

Gympie is a pretty town on the banks of the Mary River. It has a long history of gold mining, and the town centre is periodically inundated when the Mary River floods. Gold is no longer actively mined in the area, and while we were there the Mary River stayed demurely within its banks.

River behaving itself.

Walking path beside the river.

Not a lot happened in Gympie. I worked at my little desk in the Royal Hotel, with the aircon turned up high to dry the washing flapping around my ears. Roger ran errands. We debated the Covid situation in SE Qld, and made contingency plans. We have plans for every contingency bar alien invasion and the Zombie wars.

Actually, I think we've got the Zombie wars covered as well.
